In Peru, recognition is the administrative procedure through which the Peruvian State, acting through SUNEDU, grants legal effectiveness to a qualifying academic degree or professional title obtained abroad.
When a foreign credential is recognized, the recognition is entered into the National Registry of Degrees and Titles, giving the credential official publicity and enforceability within the scope established by Peruvian regulations.
Recognition is an individual procedure.
SUNEDU evaluates the degree presented by each applicant according
to the regulations and recognition criteria in force. Recognition
of one graduate does not constitute a general institutional
recognition or accreditation of a foreign university.
